After eleven hours of beauty sleep I was ready to begin my wonderful day, the second in Ireland. Today, Mike Neary and Marianna Schreeder joined us here at the Barn Lofts. We loved Matties Meeting House so much last night that we even accompanied Mike and his wife, Dana, there tonight!
Here at the Barn Lofts, we are in ready access to five Scottish Blackface sheep and a big beautiful green field to work them in. Thank you to Robin, Victoria and Paul for all of your hospitality. Thank you to Dean for delivering the Purina Pro Plan dog food for Mattie, and thank you to Purina and our wonderful representatives Ray Voigt and Karl Gunzer for sending dog food over for all of us representing Team USA.
Above is one of the beautiful fields I have had the pleasure of working on.
One of my favorite parts about the Barn Lofts is that with a short walk up the lane, you can see in the distance the ocean. Even farther in the distance, you can see the coast of Scotland. Traveling closer to the ocean, you can see that even if the water is chilly (which I can vouch for), that stops absolutely nobody from enjoying it. There was a plethora of folks enjoying the beautiful evening today, and I do believe that there is no shortage of things to enjoy in Larne.
Tonight we had a beautiful sunset, and I had the pleasure of watching it from the shore.
Above is a panoramic shot of the shore.
I am also finding that peas are a staple food here in Northern Ireland. I had peas with every meal I have eaten from a restaurant. With that, comes the want to learn how to eat them ‘correctly.’ As in using my knife to gently smash them onto the back of the fork so they stay comfortably seated for their journey into my mouth. I believe I have gotten better at it, my father might tell you otherwise.
As was on my bucket list for this trip, I ate fish ‘n’ chips for lunch today. I have never had chips this good in America, and the fish was also wonderful.
Tomorrow we are off to visit Giant’s Causeway and enjoy all of the wonderful views it has to offer.
Tonight at the Barn Lofts. This is not where we stay, but it was a beautiful view of the house with the moon in the background.
Thank you everybody for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day. Thank you for all of your support and for following along on my adventure!
